The VCF Foundation and the Diputació de València regional council, through the València Turisme tourist board, continue their preparations for the I Valencia CF Urban Art Contest. The competition is an initiative which has the aim of promoting the incorporation of quality urban art as a channel for cultural and artistic expression, creating an outstanding tourist itinerary in the Valencia region.
In this first edition, the theme of the pieces will be Mestalla, the stadium which will celebrate its centenary on May 20th, 2023.
After a municipal selection process, Cullera, Sueca and Riba-roja del Túria were the three towns selected to host two separate mural exhibitions. Artists may present their entries through to August 21st.
The Director General of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei, visited the area in Cullera that will serve as the canvas for one of the three works. On the Calle València street in the town, he was accompanied by Jordi Mayor, Mayor of Cullera and Deputy for Tourism and Music Groups, Débora Marí, Councillor for Tourism, Álex Morales, Councillor for Youth and Urban Culture, and Bernat Escolà, Councillor for Urban Planning.
Mr. Swee Wei commented that “One of the key objectives of the VCF Foundation is to care for the history of the club and spread Valencianismo. In this project we are collaborating with the tourist board to bring together the resources and talents that we have in the Valencia region."
The prize for the three winning projects will be €4,000 per mural. The three projects selected in second place will receive a payment of €500, and the three in third position, €300.
